I had high hopes for this book considering how absolutely stellar Book 1 had been. In comparison, this one came up a little less compelling, even though it’s still good.The highest challenge this book faced was redeeming Malcolm, who had been pretty despicable in Book 1. While the book did succeed in redeeming him (which, in itself, is remarkable), I felt that it redeemed him to the point of making the character sympathetic, but not to the point of making him admirable or attractive.It’s hard to enjoy a romance book as much when you don’t feel the attraction is justified, but at least the couple did earn their happy ending. I’m glad we also got glimpses of Lachlan and Christina. Lachlan is as honorable and swoon worthy as ever, and we finally get to meet Christina’s child in the end!As sequels go, this one is strong, even though it’s not perfect.
